Instructables is a site where users upload instructions on how to do anything and everything. recently they added a picture section to upload photos of projects with the instructions on how to make it. Nintendo Announces The 3DS

Nintendo released it's big E3 revile. The Nintendo 3DS. The talk of 3D gaming has been big over the past year. With Sony working on 3D games and TV's, and Avatars success. Now 3D gaming will be here sooner then we thought. In a more compact form. The one thing that gets me is Nintendo states the system will be "enjoyed with 3D effects without the need for any special glasses". I have seen 3D pictures online that you don't need glasses to see but an animated video. That's amazing. Nintendo also stated it will be compatible with existing DS games. The system is set to be released by the end of this year or early 2011. All else will be reviled at E3. I think they should of waited to say anything. But I'm excited now that I know.

Sony Playstation Move!

Whenever I mention this upcoming controller I hear a lot of groans. It's a negative attitude that Sony is just throwing it out there to compete with Wii and Natal. I say, so what. It's a very competitive industry. Competitiveness that has brought us many good games and systems. Wii is the highest selling game console. Of course Microsoft and Sony are going to try and follow in there footsteps. Honestly I'm not to excited for Natal. I find the whole concept to be very innovated but every review I've read has mentioned problems with lag (very important in video games!). In the recent days many articles have been released on Sony PlayStation Move. The more I read the better it sounds. It's got higher accuracy then a Wiimote on a system with the best graphics. I recommend you do your research before tossing it aside.

We all know the PSP Go was an epic fail. After a large amount of complaints by angry gamers Sony made a statement that they only expected the psp go to last about a year (don't quote me on it but it was something along those lines). Which made me think, why. Followed by, they must be in the works of something else and just threw this out to us distract us, milk us for more money, test run for something better... Like Halo ODST and soon the iPad. Well, sure enough, Sony has announced to the Wall Street Journal the PSP Smart Phone. Other announcements from Sony are a netbook and an e-reader to compete with Apple.

We have had some requests for Cherry Bawls. Unfortunately our vendor does not carry this product. It has been suggested to order it online. If we did we'd have to charge $3 a bottle vs. $2. Instead I made a compromise. For the March drink special. Get a splash of cherry syrup in you bawls for and extra 25 cents ($2.25). It's ghetto but it's good!

Metal Gear Arcade

in the last E3 Metal Gear Arcade was announced. Since then it has been kept quiet. Who ever remembers that it was announced? At Japan's AOU expo attendant's got to see that game in action, and play it. And it didn't disappoint. Metal Gear Arcade gives gamers a full arcade-style experience, with 5.1 surround sound, voice chat, and 3D glasses used to enable the game's "Integral Vision". Beyond the 3D effect, the glasses also have head-tracking. Where you look, Snake looks. Players will be able to engage in 16-player combat versus both live and CPU opponents or a mission mode with both solo and co-op play. If only we could have this at Tech Lounge!

That's right. Blizzard announced the online WOW armory will at some point (no release date) allow you to go to the auction house and bid. If you have the armory app on your smart phone that means you can make bids from anywhere.

"This is a fairly complex service to develop, due in large part to its unprecedented integration with the game, so we don't have an exact release date yet. It's important to note here that certain elements of the service will be premium-based, which we'll go into more detail on once the service functionality is finalized. Gaming On The iPad

The iPad (formerly the iSlate) has turned it's aim towards gamers. Lots of people already use their iPod Touch for gaming. The difference is the iPad is made to function more like a computer. Meaning more computer type games. Game developer HeroCraft is making a PC version of Majesty, Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim, specifically for the iPad. "We're impressed by the new Apple tablet device", "we believe it will provide the ideal platform for gaming, filling the gap between traditional desktop and mobile phone devices. Coming from a strong PC background 'Majesty' will work tremendously well on a high resolution portable device like the iPad."

MADISON, Wis. — A man serving life in prison for first-degree
intentional homicide lost his legal battle today to play Dungeons &
Dragons behind bars.

Kevin T. Singer filed a federal lawsuit against officials at Wisconsin's
Waupun prison, arguing that a policy banning all Dungeons & Dragons
material violated his free speech and due process rights.

Prison officials instigated the Dungeons & Dragons ban among concerns
that playing the game promoted gang-related activity and was a threat to
security. Singer challenged the ban but the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of
Appeals on Monday upheld it as a reasonable policy.

Dungeons & Dragons players create fictional characters and carry out
their adventures, often working together as a group, with the help of
complicated rules.

Singer, 33, has been a devoted player of the fantasy role-playing game
since he was a child, according to the court ruling. After the ban went
into effect, prison officials confiscated dozens of Dungeons & Dragons
books and magazines in his cell as well as a 96-page manuscript he had
written detailing a potential scenario for the game that players could
act out.

Prison officials enacted the ban in 2004 after an inmate sent an
anonymous letter expressing concern about Singer and three other inmates
forming a "gang" focused around playing the game.

Singer was told by prison officials that he could not keep the materials
because Dungeons & Dragons "promotes fantasy role playing, competitive
hostility, violence, addictive escape behaviors, and possible gambling,"
according to the ruling. The prison later developed a more comprehensive
policy against all types of fantasy games, the court said.

The appeals court said the prison's policy was reasonable and did not
violate Singer's rights.

"After all, punishment is a fundamental aspect of imprisonment, and
prisons may choose to punish inmates by preventing them from
participating in some of their favorite recreations," the court said.

Singer was sentenced to life in prison in 2002 after being found guilty
of first-degree intentional homicide in the killing of his sister's
boyfriend. The man was bludgeoned to death with a sledgehammer.

Department of Corrections spokesman John Dipko said the department was
pleased with the decision and will continue to enforce rules that are
designed to maintain a safe environment.

Singer's court-appointed attorney, W.C. Turner Herbert of North
Carolina, also did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

Microsoft stated Natal will be released the next holiday season. No other new information has been released on Natal, like the price.

Microsoft also announced a new feature for Xbox360 and PC called, The Game Room. This feature allows your avatar to walk around in a virtual arcade on Xbox live. The arcade will be filled with 'authentic' retro arcade machines from classic developers like Atari, Activision, Intellivision and Konami. Each tittle will be re-mastered in 1080p. Achievements and Leaderboards will also be available. To be able to play the game you have to either pay 500 Microsoft points ($5) to have it permanently on both Xbox360 and PC, 240 MSP ($3) for one system, or 40 MSP ($.50) for a single round on the game. Hmmm sounds familiar. Oh yeah that's right, it's a modded version of PlayStation home. I like all these interfaces PlayStation and Wii have been coming up with but why can't Microsoft come up with something on their own?!?!

Technological Advances

In the not so distant video game future consoles will be in 3D or augmented reality (Which if you haven't looked into you really should). PlayStation has been working on a 3D console for sometime now. Currently the technology is way to expensive for consumers. You'd have to purchase a new TV that can handle/produce 3D images. I don't think this is something you could get around either. I'm not to worried about it. With the popularity of 3D movies growing it won't be to long before people will want these TVs in there homes anyways.

Whats happening right now? The storage capacity of blue ray discs has increased. They went from 25GB to 33.4 GB! That's insane!

Victorinox announced a new line of Swiss Army knives. Swiss Army knives for nerds and robots. They can included Bluetooth, remote controls, USB drives, and laser pointers. I WANT!

If your about my age you'll remember in the 90's the sweet live action gun games that took over the arcades towards there end. On Jan 5th WiiWare will be releasing Fast Draw Showdown. A live action western shooter originally released in 1994, where you get to have showdowns and be tempted by prostitutes. Check it out.

One of the years best games is coming to iPhone. Plants Vs Zombies will be available to download in January 2010.

Dragon Age: Origins DLC “Return to Ostagar” will be available January 5th on the Xbox360 and PC for 400 points. The PS3 version won't be available until the end of January and will cost $4.99.

"All decent people should denounce the video game Modern Warfare 2 and join in opposing the sale and use of such games, Moreover, it may be time for Maine to begin a debate over the advisability of banning these games completely, giving due consideration to both the First Amendment, and the danger these violent games pose to the public."

says Maine's Christian Civic League.

They believe there is a link between violent video games and school shootings. Because of this they are pushing for violent video games to be banned in Maine. I wouldn't worry too much about it though. This same group also accused a local bookstore owner of being a witch, who cast a spell on the Administrator of the League, Mike Hein. Seriously?

In 1993 David Walsh started a non-profit group called National Institute for Media and the Family (NIMF). David Walsh was shocked that an 8 year old could play such violent games. The goal of NIMF was to make a report card on video game violence each year around Christmas. The first report card included games “Doom” and “Duke Nukem,”. As of Dec., 23rd, 2009 NIMF will be out of business. Walsh believes the bad economy was the fall of the group. I agree that a game should be rated on it's maturity level. Just like movies. That's what the ESRB is for.

Side Comment: A report shows that employment in the video game industry (in America) has gone up in 2009.

Also, a mother called the cops on her own son because she could not get him to stop playing video games and go to bed. She states that she woke up at 2:30am and noticed a flickering light coming from her 14 year old son's room. He was playing Grand Theft Auto. A game, she states, he isn't allowed to play. There was no altercation between the mother and son. She unplugged his PlayStation and instantly called the police. "I called (police) because if you don’t respect your mother, what are you going to do in your life?”. Let me ask who allowed him to have a video game system in his room? I know I would have done the same. My mom used to bust me hiding under the blanket with a flashlight reading when I should have been sleeping. Kids disobey their parents. It's not some strange phenomenon where we should be calling the police. Palm to forehead.

Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 2 has been hacked beyond playability. On the Xbox360 gamers get infected by joining matches hosted by a carrier. They then can pass it on when they host matches. Making the mod spread like an STD. The Mod is unlimited ammo and no reloads. As if Noob-tubing wasn't annoying enough. If you were infected you can stop it simply by resetting your Xbox. The 'glitch' started when hackers discovered a mod that allowed gamers to get unlimited XP and ammunition on private games. Microsoft is banning anyone caught using the mod. We ourselves experienced this yesterday but have not had any 'infections' today.

In other Call of Duty news... A community moderator, Cokra, spoke out (and up for its members) about Infinity Wards lack of presence in its own forums. Infinity Ward’s community manager FourZeroTwo (Robert Bowling) had no choice but respond. In his response he instead boasted about twitter. Stating "Twitter has proven itself to be one of the most effective ways to get information quickly from users" FourZeroTwo went on to complain about threads, "90% of the posts in this thread have absolutely nothing to do with the topic. Meaning someone who wanted to converse or talk about this issue, would have to filter through all the off topic posts. On Twitter, you get just the information you want, straight from the source, without the need to filter anything." Cokra was not pleased with this response. His next post was his last as community moderator, for they removed his powers. Cokra posted "When will you ACTUALLY respond to us? When will you ACTUALLY give us the explanation we deserve? I mean hell, we've worked for you for absolutely nothing, dedicated many many hours of our time to keeping these forums in some semblance of order. We have given much more than asked of us...". FourZeroTwo gave another unsatisfactory response. Stating "NOTHING online is worth getting that worked up over." All of the related forum topics have been removed.

God of War 3 is now in beta mode. This means the game is essentially 'complete'. Now until the release they will just be working out bugs and tweaking the game to perfection. It's gonna rock your socks off!!!!

Rock Star has stated that latest installment of the GTA series will not be released in 2010. You can't rush perfection.

New games that have been announced are Dead Space 2 and UFC Undisputed 2010. Maybe even a new Duke Nukem. Hints of been made on the official Duke Nukem Facebook fan page.

Off topic (but a must mention). America's Next Top Model winner, Adrianne Curry, twitted that her favorite thing to do on a Sunday is to play "WOW naked and stoned". She went so far as to post a photo. As you can see here. Enjoy.

Australia's General Attorney Michael Atkinson bans yet another game. Aliens vs. Predator. Michael is anti-adult rated games in Australia. Movie good, Game bad.

Australia is not the only country making playing adult rated games a crime. Brazilian Senator Valdir Raupp drafted a bill to make it illegal to make, sell or import any videogames deemed troublesome in the eyes of the Brazilian government. The bill has passed in the senate and will be voted on the Committee on Constitution and Justice. If this bill becomes a law any Brazilian citizen caught doing any of the above will face 3 years in prison.

Will Arnett and COD

Will Arnett is a huge Call of Duty fan. In an old interview with Jimmy Kimmel he talks of his addiction. In another interview his wife Amy Poehler also speaks of it.

Will must of been so thrilled when he was able to take part in Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 2. Yes that's right. If you watch the credits Will Arnett is listed as additional voices. Who's voice you ask. After the weapons tutorial leave the game idle and a voice will ask you if your still gay.
